RSK a global leader in sustainable solutions, since 1989 has grown to 8000 staff focused on the field of environmental science, research, engineering, and technical services. Within the RSK group, Williams Technology has formed a long relationship with NDT a specialist in Non-Destructive Testing.
THE CHALLENGE
Due to the specialised nature of the work conducted by NDT, after many years of searching and working with both off the shelf systems and manual processes, NDT reached out to Williams Technology to help find a solution which would exactly match their business processes. Specifically managing workflows around job management to plan, schedule and allow the engineer on the ground to upload test results.
Using Williams Technology rapid application development framework, a foundation system which powers a number of our enterprise software development projects, we were able to fast prototype a solution for NDT using an agile project delivery approach. From here we refined the functionality around the specific workflows and processes in their business. Specifically the test results reporting, and log management.The solution allowed NDT to quickly adopt the system as it mirrored existing processes and procedures without the need to retrain and with minimal change management.
THE PROCESS
Williams Technology delivered the bespoke software solution using an Agile Methodology, moving to an ongoing programme of Continuous Development.
The NDT system has become the go to tool in their business, heavily used and central to their planning, job management and testing processes.
